Arriving mid September
Prime Audit Log brings audit events from Prime and every connected GateManager into a single timeline. For customers running distributed deployments, this is the first time activity across multiple GateManagers can be reviewed in one place, in one consistent structure, without going site by site. Events are append-only and cannot be altered or deleted once written.
This release also introduces CSV export, so a filtered set of events can be taken out of Prime for external review.
Audit Log is available in the Prime sidebar navigation under Audit Logs.
What you can do
- View audit events from Prime and all connected GateManagers in one timeline
- Filter by time, event type, and category
- Sort by time
- Customize which columns are visible, and reorder them by drag and drop
- Switch between compact, default, and spacious table density
- Export the currently filtered events to CSV
Export
Export covers the full set of events matching your current filters and sort order, not just the rows on screen. Exports run in the background, so you can keep working while one is generating. Progress and finished files appear in the job tray at the top right.
Every export is itself recorded in the audit log, so you can see who exported data, when, and which filters were applied.
- A single export covers up to 31 days and 1,000,000 events
- Finished files stay in the job tray for 24 hours. Download links are valid for 15 minutes, and a new one is issued each time you download
- Timestamps in the file are UTC. The Prime interface shows your local timezone
Access
Domain Admins and Domain Observers can view Audit Logs. Export is limited to Domain Admins.
During the beta, a Domain Observer sees only events associated with their own user account, not all events for their location in the domain tree. If you are evaluating the audit log, use a Domain Admin account.
About the beta
Prime Audit Log is in open beta, and we want your feedback. Select the beta badge on the Audit Log page and choose the feedback option. Most useful to us: what you looked for and could not find, and what you would need before you would rely on this instead of GateManager.
While the beta is running, treat GateManager as the system of record. Event coverage and field completeness are still expanding, so Prime Audit Log is not yet the authoritative source for compliance reporting.
Known limitations
Event history. Audit Log covers events created on 8 July 2026 and after. The date filter does not allow an earlier period. Earlier events will be backfilled after the beta.
Event coverage. Coverage continues to expand. Some GateManager event types are not yet present, including role changes, package and firmware installation, and a server administrator entering a customer domain. Some event types record the action and the actor but do not yet name the account or resource acted upon, including account creation and deletion, account moves, remote access initiation, and access requests. Some GateManager events currently appear more than once, so event counts should not be treated as exact.
Filtering and fields. Filtering is available on time, event type, and category. Filters for the remaining columns are being added as backend indexing supports them. The User IP field is populated for some event types and not others, so it is not yet reliable for filtering or reporting.
