This article provides information on how to limit messages/alerts sent via the SiteManager. 

The setting/parameter is labeled as 'Max Messages' under Domain settings.



Note: This setting can only be modified by either the Distributor administrator or the Server administrator. 


If the setting is set to a non-zero value, it specifies the maximum number of Emails and SMS messages each of the SiteManagers in this domain is permitted to send per day for any of
the following reasons:

  • An alert is triggered on GateManager for the SiteManager or any of its agents (e.g. on Connect or Disconnect) 
  • A device alerts is forwarded by the SiteManager to the GateManager for delivery to a given Email or SMS recipient.
  • An email is forwarded by the SiteManager via a Server relay that targets a standard SMTP port (i.e. tcp ports 25 and 587).

When this limit is exceeded for a specific SiteManager, any further messages for or from that SiteManager will be discarded for the rest of the current 24-hour period (each period starts at 00:00 UTC).
