This article explains how to downgrade a SiteManager to a previous firmware version through the GateManager GUI.
Important: Downgrade a SiteManager only when required—for example, for compatibility or when instructed by Secomea Support. Confirm that the selected firmware is appropriate for the SiteManager model before proceeding.
To downgrade SiteManager firmware, follow these steps:
- In the GateManager tree, locate the SiteManager you want to downgrade.
- Right-click the SiteManager and select Command > Upgrade Firmware.
Note: The menu item is always named Upgrade Firmware, including when you intend to downgrade and install an earlier firmware.
-
You will then see the current firmware and the available firmware versions displayed.
-
Find the earlier firmware version you want to install.
IMPORTANT! The downgrade will be executed and reboot the SiteManager as soon as you press downgrade.
-
Click the Downgrade button next to the firmware version you want to install.
-
Wait for the downgrade to complete. The SiteManager will reboot and may be temporarily unavailable (usually for a few minutes, max 10 minutes).
-
When it reconnects, verify that it is online and that the displayed firmware version is the intended version.
