GateManager Own Installation (Azure)

This guide will show how to install a virtual GateManager on Azure.

  1. On the Azure portal dashboard, click "Virtual Machines".



  2. On the Virtual Machine tab, click the "+ Add" icon.



  3. Choose (1) Ubuntu Server and (2) choose the server version, then (3) click "Create".



  4. On Create virtual machine, enter the name, a username, password or SSH key, Subscription, create a Resource group, and the location.



  5. The recommend minimum server size are the B1ms.



  6. Only setting that need to be changed from default is the Public inbound Ports (1).



  7. Choose the RDP, SSH, HTTP and HTTPS.



  8. On the Summary click create.



  9. The virtual machine will start to be deployed.



  10. Once done, click on the virtual machine on the dashboard.



  11. On the "Virtual machine" overview, click (1) "Connect", on the (2) "SSH tap" click the (3) "blue icon" to copy the SSH settings.



  12. Click on the Cloud Shell button in the upper right corner.



  13. If it’s not already running, click restart and wait for it to start up.



  14. Check that it’s set to Bash and not Powershell.



  15. Copy in the SSH settings that was copied earlier, type "Yes", and enter the password to connect.



  16. To enable RDP enter:

    sudo apt-get install xrdp
    And type "Yes" to continue.



    sudo apt-get update
    And type "Yes" to continue.



    sudo apt-get install mate-core mate-desktop-environment mate-notification-daemon
    And type "Yes" to continue.



  17. Once it is done, click All resources.



  18. Find the and click on the (1) “Virtual Machine Name”-nsg (Network Security Group) and click (2) "Inbound security rules" and click the (3) "+ Add" icon.



  19. Create the following TCP rules:

    JVNC



    VNC



    GM default Uplink



    GTA




  20. After creating the TCP rules, go to the "Virtual machine", then click (1) "Connect", and choose the (2) "RDP tap", and click (3) "Download RDP File", and run it after it has been downloaded.



  21. Check on the “Don’t ask again” and click Connect.



  22. Check on the “Don’t ask again” and click Yes.



  23. Log on with the virtual machine user account.



  24. Install firefox:

    sudo apt-get install firefox
    And type "Yes" to continue.




  25. Open firefox and go to: kb.secomea.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003580805



  26. Download the GateManager 8250.



  27. Click OK in the Choose to open with.



  28. Extract the files.



  29. In the Cloud Shell install a 32bit directory.

    sudo apt-get install lib32stdc++6
    And type "Yes" to continue.




  30. Install sendmail.

    sudo apt-get install sendmail
    And type "Yes" to continue.




  31. Move to the Secomea folder (Might be different depending on where the files where extracted to).

    ls



    cd Secomea_GateManager_Installer



  32. Install the GateManager 8250.

    sudo ./gm_install



  33. Type "Yes" to start the installation.



  34. Enter Company Name, Department, Country Name, Country Code, City, Email and Keyword(s). And confirm the information.



  35. Type "Yes" to start the GateManager.



  36. Once is done installing, check the version.

    telnet localhost 777



  37. Then open a browser, and enter the public IP, and if it is running, it will show you the login page.



  38. Log in the with the default username and password.
    Username: Administrator
    Password:  gatemanager
