LinkManager not running

Prev Next

Error: “LinkManager Client not running.”

The issue appears to be related to browser permissions blocking access from the GateManager site to the local LinkManager client on the PC.

How to troubleshoot it.

For Google Chrome:

  1. Select the 3 dots on the upper right corner of the browser and then select Settings

  2. Open Site Settings

  3. View permissions and data stored across sites

  4. Search for the GateManager URL you normally connect to.

  5. Click on the triangle

  6. Check the following selection Local Network and Apps on device

  7. Make sure they are not “Block”,
    • you can either choose “Ask(default)” – a pop-up message will show every time you try to log in to this GateManager
    • or select “Allow” – it will automatically connect without you needing to approve the pop-up message.

  8. Once you are done, restart the browser.

For Microsoft Edge:

  1. Select the 3 dots on the upper right corner of the browser and then select Settings

  2. Open Privacy, search, and services

  3. Select Site permissions

  4. Then select All permissions

  5. Check the following selection: Local Network and Apps on device

  6. Input the GateManager URL you normally connect to in Allowed to access other apps and services on this device.

  7. Repeat the same process in no. 6 for the Local Network.

  8. Restart the browser.

If, after restarting your browser, you still see the same error, please check for any third-party applications that may be preventing your LinkManager connection, such as Zscaler, Cisco AnyConnect, and Sophos, etc. Reach out to your local Administrator for help in whitelisting our GateManager URL from these apps.
